FS2002 Honolulu International Airport, Oahu, Hawaii
Revised scenery enhancement
By: Bill Melichar

This scenery is not a fix to my recent Honolulu scenery. It is a whole new scenery! You must delete the previous hono.zip before installing this scenery! My recently released Honolulu scenery was plagued by very slow frame rates in the terminal area, so I decided to edit it, so even the most frame rate grabbing aircraft could move without jerkiness. This scenery has about half the objects, mainly trees, and some gates, and removes all the static aircraft. The lush tropical effect has been maintained, and enhanced by changing the scale of several trees to make them more visable. The roadway into Honolulu has also been removed. I would recommend Orlando Sotomayers Terrain Mesh scenery of Oahu, along with Ed Truthans Water Textures to get the most out of this scenery.

Installation:

1. Extract scenry into a temporary folder named whatever you like. Then remove the folder within named hono2, and place it in your FS2002 scenedb folder. Important! If you have my first hono scenery installed, go into FS World tab, and scenery library and delete hono from your list. Then go into the FS2002 scenedb folder and remove the hono folder, and put it somewhere else on your computer, or if you think the new scenery will be better, which it is, simply delete it. You must do this before installing the new scenery, or they will overlap causing a mess.

2. Turn on Flight Simulator and go to the World tab, then down to scenery library then press add. Find the scenedb folder and open it, then find the hono2 folder and click on it. hono2 should appear in the title window, then click OK. Your computer should go black and make a lot of gurgling noises, and when it comes back up you will have the new scenery. That's it! Then sit back and enjoy your flight into Honolulu.

3. It is recommended that you shut down FS and restart it before enjoying your new scenery.

I have created a second version which includes two static aircraft out in the hangar areas to give some additional eye candy during the long taxi to the terminal from the outermost runway. Their impact on frame rates is minimal due to their location. This version has not been released, but is available upon request.
